Explore Intune Device Profiles Flashcards
Should you exclude a mixture of users and device groups on a device configuration profile?
No - exclude either only users or only device groups.
When mixed device/user groups are assigned in a device configuration profile, which takes precedence - inclusion or exclusion?
Inclusion
What would happen if you include the All Users group, but exclude the All Devices group on a profile assignment?
All users and their devices get the policy, even if the user’s device is part of the All Devices group - BUT devices that don’t have a user don’t get the policy
When Excluding a group from a Configuration profile assignment, what does the exclusion apply to?
Direct Group members only - user-device ownership is not considered.
What would happen if you include the All Devices group, but exclude the All Users group on a profile assignment?
All devices receive the policy - It doesn’t exclude the devices because the exclusion only compares direct group members.
How would you apply a profile to all devices except Kiosks?
Include the All Users group in the assignment but exclude the All Devices group - as this would only apply to devices without a user (aka kiosks)
