Because he was treating everyone, even the Spanish, like he was the king and he caused wars because he was an unfair ruler

What happened on his 4th voyage?
He warned a governor of a hurricane on its way. The governor didn’t listen and 24 ships were lost. He regarded this as his greatest voyage ever.
