Individualism is the belief in the supreme importance of the individual over any collective or social body.

As we are individuals, we should have as much freedom as possible, realm of freedom. By virtue of being individuals, we have rights and freedom as part of our inalienable rights and thus is entitled to all.
Developmental and egotistical
Both have altered their beliefs on the individual, classical liberals view the idea of egotistical individualism and root all their classical theories and ideas on this.
Modern liberals do the same for their slightly altered views on individuals.
