Experimental key words Flashcards
Reliability
Your data is reliable if it can be REPEATED again to give the same results.
Validility
How appropriate is my method in addressing the aim of my experiment
Control group
A group that does not have the independent variable in it so that it is something for you to compare it with.
Control group
A group that does not have the independent variable in it so that it is something for you to compare it with.
Trend
An observable pattern in your results
anomoly
A data that DOES NOT fit the trend of your other data.
Range
The difference between the MINIMUM and MAXIMUM data.
Continuous data
Data that can fit anywhere on the continuum.
Line graph
When both variables are continuous, plot a line graph.
Categorical data
Data that is divided into groups or catergory.
Dependant Variable
What you are measuring in an experiement.
Bar Chart
When your IV is categoric and your DV is continuous you should draw a bar chart.
Reproducible
A measurement is reproducible if the investigation is repeated by another and the same results are obtained.
Accuracy
How close your measurement is to the true value.
Independent Variable
The thing you change in the experiment
