They were, still reliant on Britain, had regular famines and the Natives were getting fed up with them as the British were stealing food form them to feed themselves but tobacco farming turned it into a success

A

A slave would work for the the rest of their lives while an Indentured servant would only work for the amount of time that there contract was but the life expectency of slaves in barbados was also very low (about 7 yrs) which is the longest an Indentured servant could work for
