Exp 7 Flashcards
What is an ideal gas
It assumed that there is no attractive or repulsive forces
There are two exceptions to applying the ideal gas law
We can’t apply the ideal gas law on gases with law temperatures and high pressure
Compare between the real and ideal gas in
1 volume
2 attract and repel
3- collision
Ideal gas : doesn’t have a volume - don’t attract or repel - have elastic collosion.
Real gas : have its own volume - attract each other - have collision that are not elastic
What is the ideal gas law
The ideal gases don’t attract or repel between the molecules
What is the rule applied to the ideal gas?
PV=nRT
What does each of the symbols represents
PV=nRT
P pressure 1 atm = 760mmHg = 101350Pa
V volume L
n number of moles mol
R gas Constance ( 0.082057) atm.L/ mol.K
T temperature kelvin
In this equation with is the excess and which is the ideal gas
Mg(s) + 2HCl (aq) = MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)
Excess is HCl
Limiting is Mg
Ideal gas H2
If you have n trials what is the average of R?
R average = the sum of the all values of R / n
