EXAMPLE; What is the NSC?

A

The National Security Council is the principle body advising the president on security and foreign policy
- est. in 1947 the NSC brief the president daily, and the president will first turn to the National Security Adviser (NSA) over major security issues.
- This creates a rivalry between the NSA and Secretary of State, as the National security advisor has far more regular contact with the president.
- A Notable instance that highlights its influence is when Obama was watching the 2011 mission where Osama Bin Laden was killed his VP, Homeland Secretary and Defence Secretary were there alongside major advisers from the NSC emphasis its influential role
