- Gives him strength and Aaron to lead,
- Mosaic covenant – exodus 20
- Israel lives through this covenant by the death of Christ,
the plagues organized
As these are witnesses, pharaoh and Israel would know who god is!

- Moses leads the people to prepare for encounter with God,
- God reveals the shape of life for this community,
- The ten commandments – or the decalogue
- The ten words are central to the shape of the Old Testament,
two types of laws
- Apodictic law is given on authority of the lawgiver and is a basic universal statement – example the ten commandments,
- Caustic is case law applying basic principles to various contexts in the community life and usually in the form of “if you do this, this will happen.”
