Humans are born without a predefined nature or purpose (blank canvas). We create ourselves and our values through what we do and the decisions we make (our existence).

what does this mean and who’s existentialism does it follow?

A

Freedom is an unavoidable part of being human. One is free to make choices that define one’s own essence. Responsible for everything one does, responsible for finding meaning.

A

Where one denies one’s own freedom to avoid the anxiety that accompanies it. The weight of choice creates anxiety, so one prefers to live in “bad faith”
