Life span (1813-1855), he viewed existentialism with religion and be believed An individual must live a totally committed life, which is only understood by the individual and only commitment will save an individual from complete and utter despair.

Life span (1843-1900), he viewed existentialism with atheism and believed that All external authority blinds the individual to authentic choice, Christian morals keep individuals from owning up to their decisions and orderly universe is a useful fiction that hides the meaninglessness of existence
