Labelled correctly - exhibit number, op/file, date/time/person located
Packaged correctly - sealed, label visible, secured

plan for any work still to be required to assist reconstruction
an agreed reconstruction of events relevant to the crime
Steps re exhibit to examiner
- ensure the plan is confirmed through the forensic strategy meeting
- record in IMT/prop about the decision and why
- ensure OC has authorised examination
- prepare POL143
- ensure exhibits prepared (sealed, labeled, numbered, all matches)
- deliever exhibits for prompt action
- inform expert if no longer required
POL143 to contain
circumstances of case, purpose of examination, location of where from, whether any exhibits require special attention (damp), authorised
During trial, OC exhibits role
- transported exhibits to and from court
- security at venue
- production as directed by prosecutor
