Ambassadors
Appointed by the president, highest ranking diplomatic officer
Its resident representative in a foreign state or before an international organization.
Bargaining and Persiasion
An informal tool used by the president to persuade members of congress to support his or her policy initiatives.
Bully Pulpit
Unique platfrom the president has to advocate for their agenda and influence public policy.
Things such as being able to directly adress the public, leverage media attention, and rally support for policies.
Cabinet
Advisatory body made up of the heads of 15 executive departments, appointed by the president, confirmed by the senate.
Chief of Staff
Responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing all policy development, daily operations, and staff activites for the President.
Commander In Chief
Refers to the presidents ability to exercise supreme command and control over the armed forces and military of the US.

Delegate
A person selected to represent a group of people at a political assembly of the US.
Divided Government
Refers to the party in control of the presidency and the other party in control of the legislature.
Electoral College
A process including the selection of electors, meeting of electors who cast votes for president and vice president based on their regions votes, and counting of electors votes by congress.
Executive Agreement
An agreement between the president and the leader of another country
No congressional approval needed, and no transfer to the following president.
Executive Office of the President
Communicates the Presidents message to the American people to promoting our trade interests abroad.
Executive Order
A directive by the president of the US that manages operations of the federal government.
Executive Privilege
The privilege claimed by the president to withold information for public interest.
Going Public
A style of presidential leadership where they sell their programing directly to the american people.
Gridlock
political stalemate that makes passing laws very difficult.
Honeymoon Period
The period of time after a president is elected, when they’re celebrating their election and starting their term in office.
Everything seems great even though it may not be.
Impeachment
The legeslative bodies ability to initiate charges against the president for misconduct.
