researched discrimination against minority migrant groups in the Netherlands in relation to their risk of schizophrenia. Used structured interviews to find out about prejudice, racist insults or attacks, i.e the level of discrimination in the years before onset of illness

Semi-structured Interviews:
Noell (2001)
investigated how sexual orientation related to risk of suicide in homeless adolescents, by discussing their sexual preferences, their sexual behaviour, previous attempts at suciide and mental health issues. Allowed for depth of data regarding participants perceptions of their own issues, sexuality and their link, whilst still ensuring the relevant info to asses the link was found
