what is the definition of risk
The potential to lose something that you value, versus the possibility of gaining something you value. Risk involves uncertainty
types of risks
Absolute Risk - uppermost limit of risk (risk death) an example of this is solo climbing, meaning if you fall you generally die (free solo climbing)
Real Risk - The amount of risk that actually exists at a given moment, an example of this is when the risk is low due to the amount of safety features (risks present like falling while rock climbing)
Perceived Risk - Individuals subjective assessment of the real risk present at any time. an example of this is a person on a moderately difficult climb seeing it as a high risk activity (if someone is scared of heights they will see more risks)
experiential learning
experiential learning is to simply to learn by doing, it is the active participating that we learn by doing.

coastal environments
Victoria has 200km of coastline, a lot of the Victorian coast is reserved as public land, the largest threat to coastal environments are urban environments,
Wilson prom and twelve apostles have been declared a national park
