Where do you auscultate for friction rubs

What is friction rubs
Grating sounds that increase with inspiration occur with liver tumors splenic infarction or peritoneal inflammation
What is percussion
Used to determine organ size and tenderness also is used to find any fluid masses or air in the abdominal cavity
Blumberg sign
In area away from painful area press with finger @ a 90 degree angle release rapidly if negative then no pain if its positive then it will be painful when you release the pressure and that is a sign of appendicitis
Murphy sign
To check for inflammation of the gallbladder, hold finger under liver border, apply mild pressure, ask patient to breathe deep negative means no pain positive is when sharp pain when breathing in
How to assess if a patient has appendicitis
Ask patient to cough there should be pain in lower right quadrant
Mcburneys point
Local tenderness in RLQ, rectal or pelvic exam show minor tenderness
Rousing sign
Press deep and evenly m LLQ and quickly withdrawl if the patient report Pam in RLQ while pressing on LLQ that means the patient has appendicitis
P SOAS sign
Place hand above right knee ask them to raise thigh against and turn to the left if pain in RLQ then appendicitis
When should you not preform barium enema
When suspected of acute inflammation
Could cause a rupture
