A

Ritual -
Practices such as the Upanayam, Sraddha, meditation, and yoga.

Experiential/Emotional -
There are four levels of yoga: karma, Jnana, Raja, and Bhakti. These levels of yoga are achieved when one has pure love for God.

Mythological/Narratives -
Universe was created by Brahma. The four Vedas is the eternal truths revealed to ancient sages. These include Rigveda, Brahmanas, Aranyaka, and Upanishads.

Doctrine/Philosophical -
Samsara - the goal of life is to break this, the unyielding life cycle of life, death, and reincarnation.

Ethical/Legal -
Hinduism recognises four distinct values or goals of human life. Dharma is living righteously, Artha is livelihood, Kama is sensual pleasure, and Moksa is freedom from samsara.

Social -
Kumbh Mela which is the pitcher festival and the Diwali festival.

Material -
Statues of Shiva
Sacred cows
Visarjan the elephant
Clay figures.

What is the caste system, its five levels ranked highest to lowest and their meaning?

A

The caste system is your birth right. It has four main levels which are:
- Brahmin: The priest
- Kshatriyas: The warriors
- Viasya: The merchants
- Kshudras: The peasants
and the fifth level is for the lowest of people,
- The Dalits: Untouchables

How does plagues, blood, doorposts, death, first born, slavery, pharoah, and Seder plate relate to Passover:

A
  • Plagues – God sends a series of ten plagues to pressure the Egyptian ruler.
  • Blood – Blood of sacrifice used as a sign to God.
  • Doorposts – Israelites marked their doorposts with blood as sign to God to pass by them.
  • Death – Jesus was crucified as our Passover Lamb and He rose as our resurrected Lord and Savior.
  • First born – God decided that when passing through the land of Egypt he would slay the first born of the Egyptians that night.
  • Slavery – The Israelites had been enslaved by the Egyptians.
  • Pharoah – Pharaoh refuses Moses’ entreaties to let the enslaved Israelites go free.
  • Seder plate – symbol of the Exodus story and helps participants at the seder retell the story each year.
