How long is the exam?

2 hrs 30mins with extra time
1 hr 30 on Section A
1 hr on Section B

How many marks is the paper?

Answer 2

80 marks, Question 1 is worth 50 marks whilst Question 2 is worth 30 marks.

Section A: Prose
You are presented with 2 questions, pick Question 1 as this is concerned with 1880-1910.
Section B: Poetry
You are given a choice of two poems, pick whichever poem you feel more confident with.

How do you answer section a question 1?

You are assessed on AO1 & 2 and also your use of AO3 & 5.

You should analyse the text in terms of language & form and structure.
To gain marks for AO3 & 5 you must make use of the two boxes of quotes that you are presented with and link them to the text.

How do you answer section 2?

Answer 5

You are awarded 15 marks each for AO1 and AO2. You should analyse the poem’s use of language, form, structure and so on and how this creates meanings.
