What is mode 1?
Excessive Descent Rate (baro sink)
If the initial warning is “SINK RATE” what mode is it?
1 (EDR)
This mode is divided into 2 and tells us when CLOSURE rate is too high

What does mode 2a tell us?
Compares Rad alt with Rad alt closure rate
TERRAIN TERRAIN
How is mode 2b deactivated?
200’-600’ depends on BARO sink rate
What is Mode 3?
Descent After Take Off (DATO)
This mode warns of excessive BAROMETRIC Alt loss after take off/go around, aurally says “DONT SINK”
Mode 3
This mode operates during LANDING and advises of insufficient terrain clearance when A/C
Mode 4
What are the 2 modes of 4?
4a: Retracted
- <190 TOO LOW GEAR
- >190 TOO LOW TERRAIN
4b: EXTENDED
- <154 TOO LOW FLAPS
