- As a lack of democracy often makes other people strive for wealth and power.

- That terror organisations may appeal to some people who wish to make a lot of money quickly as they have decided the rewards of terrorism are greater than not joining.
An example of how greed affects terrorism?
- Greed may motivate some people to join the group as people can observe that senior al-Shabaab commanders will have access to a lot of wealth.
