exam prep Flashcards
what are the earths four spheres?
lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere
what is the lithosphere
the rocky part of the earths crust
what is the carbon cycle
the process of carbon travels from the atmosphere to earth to atmosphere.
what is a carbon source
something that releases carbon into the atmosphere.
what is a carbon sink
an area that can absorb carbon from the atmosphere.

learning occurs through observation and imitation of other.
what does UCS mean?
un conditioned stimulus (food)
what does UCR mean?
UN conditioned response (salivating)

Neutral stimulus (bell)
Lobes of the Cerebral Cortex?
- Frontal,
- Parietal,
- Temporal
- Occipital
if the frontal lobe was effect what would happen?
personality changes, difficulty concentrating or planning, and impulsivity
if the parietal lobe was damaged, what would happen?
numbness and impairs sensation on the opposite side of the body
if the occipital lobe was damaged, what effect would it have?
Visual illusions - inaccurately seeing objects.
if the temporal lobe was effected, what would happen?
Disturbance with selective attention to what we see and hear.
if the cerebellum were damaged, what would happen?
lead to: 1) loss of coordination of motor movement (asynergia), 2) the inability to judge distance and when to stop (dysmetria), 3) the inability to perform rapid alternating movements (adiadochokinesia), 4) movement tremors (intention tremor), 5) staggering, wide based walking
