Extract A tells us a lot about fighting on the western front it tells us that the conditions were bad for the troops there were huge craters damaged trenches which were difficult for the tanks to negotiate but tanks were a huge boost to the morale of the troops do to there effectiveness of crushing enemy machine gun posts

Explain one affect of world war 1 on Russia?

A

One affect of world war 1 on Russia was that the tsar was replaced by a provisional government which was later replaced with communism.
Tsar Nicholas the 2nd went off to run the eastern front during world war 1 he was a bad military leader, 12 million Russian died in world war 1.
He also left his tsarina in charge of the country but shortly after that she became influence by Rasputin.
Rumours shortly came out that she was shaging Rasputin.
The tsars poor military leadership and Rasputin influence lead to the rise of communism and the fall of the tsar.

Explain one affect of Hitler’s rise to power.

A

One of the many affects of Hitler’s rise to power was how he changed society e.g women had less Freedom they had to focus on the traditional roles such as cooking, cleaning and looking after children.
If a women had lots of children then the nazi party gave that women a medal.
Boys and girls had to join Hitler’s youth boys had to learn how to march, camp and fight.
Girls had to join the league of German maidens learn how to cook sew and raise children.
Undesirable parenthood to be sterilised e.g such as mentally unstable and people with genetic diseases.

What was the cause of the holocaust?

A

The cause of the holocaust was Hitler’s and the Germans hatred for the Jews.
1.
Hitler hated the Jews because when he was in Vienna he ended up shovelling snow for some Jews who were very cruel to him.
2.
The second reason why Germans hated the Jews was they were rich and they owned businesses and had power.
And the Jews were blamed for the defeat during World War One.

Nazi propaganda showed Jews as unclean evil etc.
This made people hate the Jews even more
If you hid or abetted a Jew in any way you were sent to a concentration camp

There was a long history of antisemitism in Germany.
The Jews were also blamed for killing Jesus
