colcichine - it Interferes with the functions of the WBCs in initiating and perpetuating inflammatory response
SE: GI Upset, diarrhea, NV, abd pain, aplastic anemia
Take w/ meals NOT with grapefruit juice

SE: kidney stones, GI upset, aplastic anemia, flusing. Action decreased by salicylates

febustat - interrupts purine breakdown
Allopurinol - Prevents uric acid in blood by blocking formation
Se: Increases action of antidiabetic agents, hypotension, hepatitis, bone marrow depression, NV flusing, rash, increases theopyhlline toxicity
Gout ARB
Losarten- good for elderly with HTN and gout, promotes excretion

ASA and Thiazide diuretics- block renal excretion of uric acid

Acetominophen max dose 2600 /day
Topical creams - capsaicin, methyl salicate
