Feast of Tabernacles (Feast of Booths) celebration:
A feast to give thanks to God for a good harvest and for his benefits in the desert during the exodus from Egypt, along with the hope of a new exodus.
What did the festival include:
prayer for winter rain (water) and for the renewal of sunlight (light)
Why did jesus go to the festival secretly?
he only does what the father tells him to do
What does people of the land mean?
if you have learned the scripture but not the Mishnah, you are a person without education
what was the feast gratitude for?
For the exodus, asking for rain now, and looked ahead in anticipation for the new exodus
four necessities for feast:
fruit, water, trumpet, golden vase, branches, temple and alter
