What are the OWE seating restrictions?
- 16 years of age or older
- Be able to understand the operating instructions for the exit
- Have sufficient mobility, strength and dexterity to operate the exit
- Be able to visually determine if the exit is safe to open
- Not require special handling or the use of a mobility aid or medical device
- Not require the use of an oxygen concentrator or cylinder
- Not be travelling with an animal in the cabin
- Not have sole responsibility for another person
- Not have a condition that might cause them bodily harm by operating the
exit - B737: Not require the use of seatbelt extension
How many SVANs are allowed per passenger?
2 (no limit per flight)
Who is responsible for the safety of UMNRs?
ALL flight attendants
How many UNMNs are permitted per flight?
Max 4 per flight (may be exceptions in IROP)
What does the lead brief the crew on for IFSOs?
Presence and seat location
What PEDs are permitted at all times?
Electronic watches, hearing aids, headphones, personal fans.
Which 2 announcements are delivered via the Automated announcement system in English (doesn’t have to be read)?
Boarding and departure
What information is included in the boarding announcement?
Welcome onboard. We kindly ask you to please keep the aisle clear and place your carry-on baggage in the overhead bins, or under the seat in front of you.

What information is included in the departure announcement?
Carry on baggage stowage, PEDs in airplane mode.

In preparation for departure, please ensure that personal electronic devices are now in airplane mode for the duration of the flight.

What is the difference between secured vs stowed?
Items that can be secured are handheld and below 2lbs, they must not interfere with a pax ability to brace.
When is the lifevest demo required?
all the flights to/from:
Destinations outside the continental United States and Canada
Newfoundland
Florida via airports east of Thunder Bay
Additional destinations or routings as determined by the Captain
What are the demo positions on the 737 with 3 crew members?
Lead - PA/FWD
P2 - 1st row economy or row before the OWE if no premium
P3 - row 1
What are the demo positions on the 737-700 with 4 crew members?
Lead - PA/FWD
P2 - First row of the Economy Cabin or Row before the OWE row on aircraft without Premium seating
P3 - row 1
P4 - interchangeable with/as directed by P2

How can you tell the difference between single and dual chamber life vests?
Single chamber - 1 red toggle and inflation tube, usually located above seats
Dual chamber - 2 red toggles and inflation tubes, usually located below seats
How often are pax required to be offered to deplane as per APPR during an extended ground delay and with what exceptions?
- Every 30 min
- unless PIC determines it would affect safety/security or as directed by ATC
Who delivers the delay announcement(s)?
The captain will deliver the initial announcement
Then cabin crew to update every 30 min
What are the duties prior to closing the main cabin door?
Complete safety briefings
Play departure announcement
Ensure cabin is secure - check carry on baggage / bulk out
Complete headcount if applicable
Ensure galleys are secure
Lavs are locked and unoccupied
What are the initial lead duties prior to closing the main cabin door?
- Confirm head count
- Call P2 to confirm count, SSRs, water levels and galley secure
- Advise captain of waste/water level, headcount, SSRs, and any seat relocations
- Ensure documents obtained from CSAs go in flight deck
- Obtain authorization from PIC to close
- Close flight deck door and verify closed
- Check door area is clear and confirm close with CSA
- Close MCD (verify handle all way down after closing)
What are the 3 turbulence levels?
Light, moderate and severe?
What happens during light turbulence?
Seatbelt announcement played and seatbelt check done if safe to do so
When may an FA secure themselves in a jump seat or pax seat during turbulence?
Whenever an FA feels necessary
