Conformity influences through passive imitation of others (raising hand when others are raising their hand) and doesn’t require a power dynamic
Power Corrupts
Unconscious, depends on cultural stereotypes
- makes us more agentic (action-taking/risk-taking)
- creates psychological distance (not caring so much about details)
Power Paradox
Being a good person can help you acquire power, but you can become a bad person once you have power
