Groups that experience prejudice, discrimination, and oppression by the dominant group.
Populations at risk
The process of obtaining relevant information about the client system and perceived needs.
Social study or social history
The process of making tentative judgements about how the information derived from a client system affects the system.
Assessment
A process used by social workers and others helping professionals with client systems to identify ways to meet their needs; usually includes the identification of specific goals, steps to be taken in meeting those goals, resources needed, and a time frame for completion.
