- Enters through cut or puncture in skin. Can also get from cats.

- Wherever fungi burrow into skin and release enzymes that digest keratin.
- come from fungal spores that grow in warm damp areas like locker rooms and public floors. can be passed from human to human. Can grow in soil and can be on cats and dogs. Can spread to other parts of body when you scratch infected area and touch somewhere else.
