A

1969 grad student at University of California told us psychologist he was going to kill his ex. Psychologist told pubic safety . They interviewed him but didn’t detain. Two months later he killed her. Ended up Supreme Court ruled that the therapist did not use reasonable care to protect patient

A

Developed from sample of 600 men from maximum security Canadian hospital. Studied about 50 variables that could predict violent crime in the community from the group. 12 variables found most predictive of those who reoffended.

1136 subjects where 134 risk factors were examined within a psychiatric population. Interviews conducted periodically for updates… how violent were they? Results: there is no single path to violence.
