exam 2 Flashcards
before this class, what was your basic perception of jesus’s life and message?
I have always had the basic Christian worldview of Jesus. I know that he is the Son of God and also the Son of Man. Jesus lived a perfect life, served and loved the people around him and performed many miracles throughout his lifetime. He ultimately saved humanity.
explain how jesus’s person constitutes the foundation of the Christian faith
Jesus is the center of the faith because He is the defining figure of scripture. The Law of Moses taught that a Messiah would come, and Jesus fulfilled that. Most of a Christian’s worldview comes from Jesus like his perfect life, death on the cross, and resurrection.
why is the crucifixion and resurrection important for a christian understanding of redemption and renewal
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are crucial in a Christian’s hope and belief system. His crucifixion shows people how loving God is and that humans can be free from their sins. The resurrection is Gods way of showing humanity that Jesus saved us.

What are some main truths about the creation, narrative in genesis?
God was in the beginning, created the world, existed in oral tradition, told from perspective, faith, not a scientific explanation, not intended to answer modern questions, cracks, ancient views of creation (none of the above?)
how should we understand the two accounts of creation given in genesis one and two?
cosmological approach is a godeye view of the process.
Anthropological approach centers on humanity.
They are complementary accounts, not contradictory.
