What is a generic convention
Features of a text that allows us to put them in a specific genre

Writers deceive readers’ sense of sight, touch, taste, and sounds, making them imagine what is happening, by illustrating certain details.
What is personification
Giving an object or animal human characteristics to create interesting imagery
Idiom
common word or phrase with a culturally understood meaning that differs from what its composite words’ denotations would suggest e.g: cat got your tongue
What is allusion
an expression designed to call something to mind without mentioning it explicitly; an indirect or passing reference
WHat is hyperbole
Something being exaggeratd to make it seem more extreme for the benefit of the story
What is genre
A style the story follows

What is structure
The arrangement of story elements according to purpose, style, genre
What is theme
The main idea/ underlying meaning that the writer explores
