Politics have most influence and should cultivate virtue among citizens, therefore politicians should be the most virtuous people

Virtue: focusing on virtue as the single most important thing for a good society

-people seek pleasure and happiness, so morality is seeking pleasure
-the question is to define what is good? This is measured through the happiness calculus

-people should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as no harming others
