Bird and Bigger

They both fall on the “b” sounds.

However, Bird has only one vowel, so thats considered our stress vowel. For this, we would use ɝ and NOT ɚ.

FOR the word “bigger”….the stressed vowel is the “i” in the begining of the word. So the “errrr” sound at the end of the word “Bigger” would be our second stressed vowel. For this reason, we use ɚ and NOT ɝ
