Philosophers during the Enlightenment
turned attention toward the human vs the universes - limitations of humans and our perception of reality
Society during Enlightenment
- the upper class dicdtataed the norms 2. well defined codes of behavior - in general people were weak and needed to stick to the codes of behavior (lead by their passions) 3. public life was more important than private life

- is evidence of Gods plan (natural order) 2. universe runs on cause and effect rules 3. parts are subordinate to the whole (system) 4. people should not try to upset nature
