What is an ISP and what do they do?
Internet Service Provider; Provide access to the internet for individuals either for free or for a fee.

How well the network can send and receive data.
What do IP addresses do?
Identify computer and device locations connected to the internet or any other network.
What is a Domain Name?
They are text-based and correspond to IP addresses.
What’s the difference between IPv4 & IPv6?
They mean the same things but IPv6 is an extension of space for IPv4 in case it runs out of room.
What is DNS?
It’s a translator that reads the domain name into computer language.

A top-level domain.
What are firewalls?
Security tools that protect personal computers from intrusions.

Collect your information.
What is a CPU?
Central Processing Unit; Brain of the computer.
What does the CPU do?
Directs and coordinates most computer applications.
What is the CPU composed of?
A control unit and an arithmetic logic unit.
What does the Control Unit do?
It’s the component of the processor that directs most of the operations in the computer.
What does the Arithmetic Logic Unit do?
It performs arithmetic, comparison, and other operations.
What process does something like typing your name on a keyboard trigger?
Input, Memory, Processor, Memory, Output.
What are the 4 basic operations that a processor performs?
Fetch, Decode, Execute, Store.
What is capacity measured in?
Bytes.
What is speed measured in?
Hertz.
