the effects of sin

A

shame: Adam and Eve expected marvelous results from eating the fruit – and instead they got a guilty conscience. The only bright spot is that they still have a conscience. Conscience is part of gods grace.
hiding: instead of running to God, Adam and Eve run from God.
impaired intellect: they fail to reason that you can’t hide from God.
hurling: Adam blames eve and blames God for giving it to him. Eve blames the serpent.

ask a searching question: Cain, why are you angry?
take note of body language. why is your face downcast?
Direct them back to the healthy choice: if you do what is right, will you not also be accepted?
reminded him of personal responsibility, choices and consequences: if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.
