What is the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic purposes?
Intrinsic means self-motivated reasons; things you want to do. Extrinsic means there is a reward or enticing goal in doing something.

a human or animal activity or behavioral style that is self-motivated and carried on for intrinsic, rather than external, purposes.
