  • Complex w/ mosque in center–hospitals, schools, soup kitchens, burial for previous sultan, etc

  • Very similar to the Hagia Sophia (which was built as a church, changed into a mosque) but w/ more light (Hagia Sophia = shadowy)
  • Light fixture down low to make the space less central (b/c mosques do not need centers)

  • Combined chatris with Timurid and Safavid styles
  • Both awesome/grand and for the people
  • Had a tomb for honoring the man who foretold the birth of his son
