relationship of the dorsum of the fetus to the quadrants fo the dam’s pelvis
- dorso-sacral (normal)
- dorso-pubic
- dorso-right ileal
- dorso-left ileal
Posture
relationship of the fetal extremities to the fetus itself
- head extended, both front legs extended (normal)
- head back, front legs extended
- one leg back, one extended
- Etc
What is the normal orientation in the birth canal?
Anterior presentation
Dorso-sacral position
Both forelimbs and head extended (posture)
What is a “breech”orientation?
posterior presentation
dorso-sacral position
both hind limbs flexed at hip (tail-end coming out first)
