EX 13 Muscle Attachment : Thigh and Leg Movement (Anterior and Medial) Flashcards
Iliopsoas
Iliacus: Originates from the iliac fossa and cress, lateral sacrum, and inserts on or just below less trochanter of the femur.
psoas major: Originates from the transverse processes, bodies, and discs of T12 and Lumbar vertebrae.
Sartorius
Originates from the anterior superior iliac spine and inserts by an aponeurosis into medial aspect of proximal tibia.
Adductor magnus
Originates from the ischial and pubic rami and ischial tuberosity and inserts into the linea aspera and adductor tubercle of femur.
Adductor longus
Originates from the pubis near pubic symphysis and inserts into the linea aspera.
Adductor brevis
Originates from the body and inferior pubic ramus and inserts into the linea aspera.
Pectineus
Originates from the pectineal line of pubis and inserts into the inferior from lesser trochanter to linea aspera of femur.
Gracilis
Originates from the inferior ramus and body of pubis and inserts into the medial surface of tibia just inferior to the medial condyle.
Rectus femoris
Originates from the anterior inferior iliac spine and superior margin of acetabulum and inserts into the tibial tuberosity and patella.
Vastus lateralis
Originates from the greater trochanter, intertrochanteric line, and linea aspera, and inserts into the tibial tuberosity and patella.
Vastus medialis
Originates from the linea aspera and intertrochanteric line and inserts into the tibial tuberosity and patella.
Vastus intermedius
Originates from the anterior and lateral surface of femur and inserts into the tibial tuberosity and patella.
Tensor fascia lata
Originates from the anterior aspect of iliac crest and anterior superior iliac spine and inserts into the iliotibial tract.
