What does the MUX do?
Combines baseband signals into single data stream.
What does the MODULATOR do?
Digital to analog conversion.

Adds active gain to overcome FSL
What is heterodyning?
The process of mixing two signals to achieve a desired output
Why convert RF to IF?
IF is used to reduce cost and improve efficiency of a system. All devices can talk without the need for additional converters.
What is the TTF and what does it do?
Transponder Translation Frequency (Factor). Ensures uplink and downlink frequencies are properly aligned and synchronized.
What is Free Space Loss?
Loss of power due to spreading of wave’s energy
What is reciprocity?
Antenna’s capability to transmit and receive.
Reciprocity Theorem: In a perfect environment, TX gain = RX gain
