meta-analysis
Qualitative research approach that involves exploration of the topic about which little is known and the results in the generation of theory.
Grounded theory
to apply the findings of one study to the wider population.
generalize
a study designed contest whether a treatment or intervention is effective.
experimental research
Practice which is based on the best available evidence, moderated by the patients preferences and clinical/professional judgement.

Qualitative research approach which involves the study of culture/way of life of participants.
Ethnography
This term is often used in. qualitative research to describe the extent to which the researcher can account for the methods and results found in the study.
Dependability
A process by which the quality of evidence is assessed, evaluated or questioned.
Critical Appraisial.
in qualitative research, this refers to the extent to which the results can be confirmed.
Confirmability
A study in which two or more groups or cohorts are followed up to examine whether exposures measured at the beginning led to outcomes, such as disease.
Cohort Study
A study undertaken in a clinical area to compare the effect of an intervention. / Randomised Controlled Trail RCT.
Clinical Trial
A study in which people with a specific condition are compared to people without this condition (controls) to compare the frequency of the occurrence of the exposure that might have caused the disease.
