What are patient orientated outcomes (POOs) and disease orientated outcomes (DOOs)?
Two types of evidences:
Patient orientated outcomes- evidences that have a direct tangible effect on a patient group
Disease orientated outcomes- a result that has an effect on the disease itself
How are drugs chosen for formularies?
The STEPS acronym gives five simple and valid reasons for consideration when deciding the benefits and harms of one drug over another Safety Tolerability Efficacy Price Simplicity
What is health technology?
Health technology refers to the application of organized knowledge and skills in the form of devices, medicines, vaccines, procedures and systems developed to solve a health problem and improve quality of lives
What is a health technology assessment?
A systematic evaluation of properties, effects, and/or impacts of health technology
Multidisciplinary process to evaluate the social, economic, organizational and ethical issues of a health intervention or health technology
