A
A standard/ point of reference used to evaluate the quality, effectiveness , performance of healthcare practices

What happens in RCTs?
A
Gold standard of experimental trial. People put into groups that are randomised either through a placebo or sham. The others will receive the intervention. Ideal would be they don’t know what group they are in - gives extra validity to findings
