The integration of:
- Systematic assessments of clinically relevant scientific evidence
- Dentists clinical expertise

A
- Ask: ask questions in a focused way to find evidence
- Align/Acquire: search for and retrieve evidence
- Appraise: critically appraise evidence for validity and clinical relevance
- Apply: apply the evidence to patient treatment/care

A
- The validity of a study (the design, methods, results)
- Importance of the study
- Originality
- Should the paper be published/improved/rejected

- Can’t prevent fraud, plagiarism or duplication

- Not needed: no more research required because we already have the answer
- Poor design: wrong design, inappropriate control/comparison group, biased

Intervention: what is being “done” to the patients
Comparison: what are we comparing to?
Outcome: desire or undesired
