A
- A1C >/- 6.5
- FPG >/- 126 (7 mmol)
- Two-hour plasma glucose >/- 200 mg (11.1 mmol)

A
Random blood glucose
- if >/- 200 (11.1 mmol): confirm diabetes

Repeat them.

FPG: 100 - 125 (5.6 - 6.9)
2 Hour OGTT: 140-199 (7.8-11)

Who do we screen for T2DM (asymptomatic individuals)?
A
- Adults of any age with BMI >/- 25
- Asian Americans with BMI >/- 23
- Adults who has risk factors for diabetes (especially overweight)

What to do if screening tests are normal for high risk patients?
A
Repeat every 3 years
