What is The Subjectivist Theory
A
The subjectivist theory says that the value of art is entirely dependent on the viewer whose personal response or emotions give it its value. According to this view beauty and meaning in art are subjective making the meaning come from the observer not the artwork itself

What is The Institutional Theory
A
The institutional theory claims that something only becomes art when it’s recognised by someone/organisation that’s in the art world already eg: museuams, critics and artists themselves.
The status of the artwork is determined by institutions rather than any property of the art
