A
  • Germany didn’t pay back loans of $6.6 billion by 1922
  • french and Belgian soldiers angry that haven’t got their money yet
  • french and beligian troops invaded the Ruhr as its a key industrial area for Germany
  • Germany ordered workers strike so french had nothing to take
  • french killed 100 workers and expelled 1000000 workers

  • no exports from Ruhr
  • print more money to pay for workers
  • hyperinflation

What were the events of the Munich putch?

A

-hitler took advantage of Weimar being in a weak state due to the Ruhr crisis and hyperinflation
- hitler and 600 SA members burst into a meeting in a local beer hall containing Kahr and Lossow (2 significant political people
- SA took over army headquarters and offices and local newspaper
- 9th November Hitler, Ludendorff and the SA marched into Munich
- met police and German army in Munich
- police killed 19 SA members
- hitler escaped in a car while Ludendorff faced opposition
- Hitler arrested two days later
- only served 9 months when should have been life
