Define ‘validity’
Validity is the extent to which a concept, conclusion or measurement is well-founded and likely corresponds accurately to the real world.
Define ‘generalisability’
The ability to make claims about the target population by research findings.
Define ‘ethics’
moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour or the conducting of an activity.
Define ‘reliability’
The ability to repeat the same research and gain the same or similar results.
Define ‘reductionist’
Reductionism is the belief that human behaviour can be explained by breaking it down into smaller component parts.
Define ‘deterministic’
Determinism is the belief that all human behaviours flow from genetic or environmental factors that, once they have occurred, are very difficult or impossible to change.
