Allies
A group of nations or people that work together and cooperate for a military purpose to defeat an opponent.
Iron Curtain
An imaginary boundary that formed after WWII separating Europe into two opposing sides.
Invasion
The term used when armed forces enter a country to occupy and take control of it.
Reparation
To make amends for wrongdoing by paying back money or helping those that had been wronged.
Nazism
The political principles of the National Socialist German Workers Party later included extreme racist or authoritarian views and behaviors.
Totalitarian
Government ruler that prohibits opposition, restricts individual rights, and exercises an extremely high degree of control over public and private life.
Isolationism
A countries policy of remaining apart from the affairs or interests of others, especially the political affairs of other countries.
Genocide
The deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.

The systematic government-led killing of six million Jewish men, women, and children and millions of others by NaziGermany and its collaborators during World War II.
Recession
A severe and long-lasting downturn in the market and economy causing financial hardship.
Concentration Camp
A place where large numbers of people are imprisoned without proper care or necessities and sometimes forced to work and/or await mass execution.
Fascism
A government system led by a dictator having complete power, and control of industry, and commerce, while emphasizes aggressive nationalism and often racism.
Communism
A form of government in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
Enormous
Very large in size, quantity, or extent.
