Q

What is the function of a plasma cell(surface) membrane? + describe it.

A

Found on the surface of animal cells and inside the cell walls of plants. It is made of lipids and proteins.
It’s function is to regulate the movement of substances in and out of the cell. It also has receptor molecules which respond to hormone molecules.

Q

What is the function of a nucleus? + describe it.

A

Has a nuclear envelope(double membrane) and a nucleolus, chromatin(DNA and proteins). Function is to control the cells activities- DNA has instructions for making proteins. Nucleolus makes ribosomes.
